for Friday, November 9, 2012 (Re-Write) fi9

Class,

Your homework for the week is to re-write the essay of your choice. You may choose from any of the first five assignments/essays. The essays you may NOT re-write are:
your Saint Essay, your Descriptive Essay, or your Three-Panel Essay
Your Re-Written Essay must be three paragraphs.

This is your chance to make a past paper into an even GREATER Essay!

• Include ALL dress-ups and Openers #1 and #2 and a #6(vss).
• Use the proper indicators for each requirement.
• Your Clincher must reflect, restate, reiterate or recount your Topic Sentence.
• Remember proper formatting  (Avoid those 10 point deductions -- follow the rules)
• No banned words
• Vocabulary can be included.
• Remember the Outline (KWO) and the Official Checklist!
• Write words in your Official Checklist where appropriate!
• Staple your Essay, KWO and Checklist together

REMEMBER I SAID THERE WOULD BE A CHANCE FOR EXTRA CREDIT?? HERE IT IS.

Teresa, José and Diego:

Your assignment includes:
1) One or Two Essays (your choice)
2) Vocabulary words
3) Corrected "Fix-it"

Here is the link to the ESSAY FORMAT REQUIREMENTS

Be sure that your essay(s) conform to these rules.

I gave José some paragraphs to share.
Choose one or two paragraphs - one minimum and two if you would like more practice!  :-).

Remember to:
1) create a keyword outline
2) then put the original paragraph(s) away and
3) rewrite the paragraph(s) using just the KWO

Staple your KWO (key word outline) to your essay and submit them together on Friday. You do NOT need to attach a checklist.

Rewrite the Fix It below with corrections. Look for punctuation errors, spelling problems, tense mistakes, etc.

The bolded words in the "Fix-It" are our vocabulary words for the week.

Write each word and its definition. Include its part of speech and a sentence using the vocabulary word.

FIX IT Week 9
The little mermaid swimmed close to the cabin windows, as the waves lifted her up now and then she could peer in through clear, glass windowpanes, and glimpse a number of well-attired people within.

among them was a young Prince with large black eyes who was sixteen years of age and his birthday was being commemorated with much rejoicing

When the vibrant prince came out of the cabin more than 100 rockets raised in the air, making it as dazzling as day, the ship was so brightly lit that the mermaid could gaze at all the people distinctly and plainly

Never having observed such fireworks before they so startled the little mermaid that she dived under water, when she again stretched out her hand it appeared like all the celestial stars were falling from the sky
