due Friday, February 1, 2013 (Expand to 5P)

I have been given strict instructions to stay still. This is NOT conducive to getting to my computer and sending you all this week's essay assignment.

So, I have decided that will not stop me…I am using my phone!

OK, here goes.  We covered all of this in class and I reminded you to take notes. Check this info against your notes to help you remember. I am looking forward to reading wonderful 5-paragraph essays.

ASSIGNMENT:
A 5-paragraph essay.

P-1-->INTRODUCTION (write this after the body!!!)
P-2,3 and 4 -->three paragraphs in the BODY (write these first!!!)
P-5 --> CONCLUSION (write this after the body!!!)

INTRODUCTION:
--> First sentence should catch your reader's attention.
--> The rest of the intro gives background, general, and/or basic information about your following paragraphs. It introduces the body of your essay.
--> Remember to include all dress-ups and openers.
--> T/C is not required for intro.

BODY
The essay from last week will be the first paragraph of the body of your essay.

Choose a different person for the second paragraph in the body of your essay.

The third paragraph of the body of your essay will bring the two biographical paragraphs together.
This third paragraph should compare and/or contrast the two people. You can look at the similarities and/or differences of the two people.

CONCLUSION:
--> Briefly restate or recall highlights of your essay.
--> The last sentence should tell the reader, "the most significant or important" element, fact or opinion of your whole essay.
--> The last sentence should relate to and/or even share words with your TITLE.

In EACH paragraph, include the required dress ups and openers.

Need a reminder?

EXTRA CREDIT
Vocabulary words are still extra credit, as long as they are used correctly and indicated properly.

-- In each paragraph you   may also use one (MET) and one (SIM)  for extra credit.
-- In each paragraph you may also use one (DEC 2) or (Q) which is a QUESTION.
-- In each paragraph you may also indicate one  alliteration for extra credit.
These "DECORATIONS" are NOT required. They must be used correctly and they must be indicated correctly in order to receive extra credit.

No FIXit this week.

Blessings,
Mrs. Peggy Cortez
