My knee is giving me problems - it may hurt but it is not literally giving you problems (see the cartoon to the left)

Rollercoaster of emotions - A rollercoaster of emotions doesn't exist anywhere, so when people are on a rollercoaster of emotions, they are simply experiencing lots of ups and downs.

Feel blue - No one actually ever feels like the color blue, although many people say they are "feeling blue" to mean they are feeling sad.

He climbed the ladder of success.
Her heart was broken and she cried a river.
She cut him down with her words.
He bombed the test.
It's raining cats and dogs.

SIMILE:
cute as a kitten
busy as a bee
run like the wind
happy as a clam
bald as a cue ball

"He had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook when he laughed,  like a bowlful of jelly!"

The beard of his chin was as white as the snow.

FIX IT  - Week 13
He seemed to her as the marble statue in her little garden and she wished that he might live. Presently they came in site of land, near the coast stood a well-built convent.

She swam with the prince to the beach which was covered with fine white sand and their she lay him in the warm vital sunshine, taking care to rise his head higher than his body.

When bells pealed in the large, white building several young girls came into the garden, and the little mermaid swam out further from the shore, and hid herself among 2 high rocks covering herself with sea foam so that her face might not be scene.

Timidly, a young girl approached the spot where the prince laid and then she fetched others to help, and when the prince came to life again he smiled upon those which stood confounded around him
