Haiku Hall of Fame

Shooting stars pass by
Making wishes brightly shine
As if they were real
Cossette

I have an old dog
He will never do new tricks
I guess it is true
Dominic

The aged man's body
lumbered as he plowed the hill
soon the night will fall
Audrey

He builds the small house
With great thoughtfulness he works
The house is now home
Emma

Lying on the sand
We were just shooting the breeze
Because I love deer
Audrey

Purple pansies wave
Politely nodding their heads
In the perfect spring
Cossette

Up high in the trees
Many birds chatter and chirp
Discussing new homes
Cossette

Plump and pink, sweet lips
Forming a small and sad pout
Punished tiny child
Dominic

Hard rain showers start
Pattering on the tin roof
Raining cats and dogs
Cossette

Near the sandy shore
Salty waves harshly pounding
Tide is turning soon
Cossette

Brothers are trying
They are constantly fighting
With me, and themselves
Eliana

Mostly birds do fly
They soar, dive, and race all day
But poor penguins don't
Emma

In prairie beauty
wild flowers cover the ground
for our enjoyment
Audrey

I look up, searching.
Nana says, "It's raining cats and dogs."
My net is ready.
Eliana

 A mother and child
The sweet voice of soft singing
The small birds chirping

The child falls asleep
The sun is slowly setting
On the ugly hut

The birds end their song
Finally there is silence
The mother drifts off

The mother awakes
To the sound of wolves howling
She is really scared

Darkness all around
She kills two birds with one stone
To distract the wolves

Mia
